Wyoming Winter Weather Alert: Up to 18 Inches of Snow Expected by Monday in Teton and Yellowstone

Yellowstone, WY – A winter weather advisory remains in effect from 11 a.m. Sunday to 11 a.m. Monday for Yellowstone National Park and the Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains, with significant snowfall and strong winds expected.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Riverton, snowfall totals will range from 4 to 12 inches in Yellowstone, with higher amounts up to 18 inches in the Tetons. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph, leading to dangerous travel conditions, particularly over Teton and Togwotee Passes.

Backcountry travelers should prepare for reduced visibility and deep snow accumulation. The NWS advises motorists to slow down, carry emergency supplies, and check road conditions at wyoroad.info before traveling.
