CalFresh Announces July 2025 Food Stamp Distribution Dates

California – California’s largest food assistance program, CalFresh (also known as SNAP at the federal level), will begin depositing its July 2025 benefits on July 1, adhering to the program’s usual schedule.

When Are CalFresh (SNAP) Benefits Deposited?

CalFresh benefits are issued during the first 10 days of the month based on the last digit of the recipient’s case number. Below is the schedule for July 2025:

  • July 1: Case number ends in 1
  • July 2: Case number ends in 2
  • July 3: Case number ends in 3
  • July 4: Case number ends in 4
  • July 5: Case number ends in 5
  • July 6: Case number ends in 6
  • July 7: Case number ends in 7
  • July 8: Case number ends in 8
  • July 9: Case number ends in 9
  • July 10: Case number ends in 10

You can find your case number on most documents issued by the county or by checking online through the BenefitsCal platform if you have an active account.

What Time Are CalFresh Benefits Loaded?

Based on data from Propel, approximately 92% of CalFresh deposits are made at midnight on the scheduled day according to the case number.

If you do not see the funds immediately, it’s recommended to wait a few hours before contacting your county office, as benefits may appear later in the day.

If your benefits are not deposited on the estimated date, it could be due to issues such as the expiration of your eligibility period, missing documents, or system errors.

In such cases, it’s advisable to contact your county office directly for assistance.

What Can You Buy With CalFresh?

CalFresh benefits are loaded onto an EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) card, which can be used to purchase food at grocery stores, farmers markets, and other locations that accept EBT payments. Eligible items include:

  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Meats and dairy products
  • Breads and cereals
  • Other nutritious food items

However, non-food items such as cleaning supplies, alcohol, and tobacco cannot be purchased with CalFresh benefits.
