Tenant Arrested After Failing to Kill Landlord and Crashing Car Into Shared Residence

Jensen Beach, Florida — A 69-year-old Florida man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly inviting his landlord to dinner, only to viciously attack her and crash his vehicle into their shared home.

The disturbing incident took place on Tuesday night in Jensen Beach, approximately 100 miles north of Miami.

The Attack

Brian Thomas Leach, who rents the lower level of the home, invited the victim to dinner under false pretenses.

Once the landlord arrived downstairs, Leach allegedly attacked her, beating her severely. In a fit of rage, he then drove his vehicle into the side of the home, causing significant structural damage.

Law Enforcement Response

The authorities found the victim with severe injuries, and photos shared by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office showed a bloodied Toyota RAV4 vehicle and visible damage to the house.

The scene inside the home also showed drops of blood across the floor.

Arrest and Investigation

Law enforcement later released video footage of Leach being transported from the hospital to jail. He appeared dazed and limping, barefoot.

Leach is currently being held in the Martin County Jail, facing a charge of attempted murder. If convicted, he could face a life sentence in prison.
