Round Rock, TX — A 22-year-old Texas woman, Kearra Thomas, has been arrested and charged with manslaughter after she allegedly drove drunk into an already-overturned car, killing three people — including a Good Samaritan who had stopped to help.
The tragic crash happened at about 2:24 a.m. on June 29, 2025, along North Interstate 35 in Round Rock. Authorities arrived to find a horrific scene with multiple fatalities and wrecked vehicles.
The Victims
Police identified the three victims as:
- Agustin Guillen, 38
- Quinn Stegall, 21
- Maximo Ramirez, 49 — who had stopped his vehicle to assist those in the overturned car.
“My brother was a medical assistant,” said Mari Ramirez, Maximo’s sister. “He was always helping others. He would’ve given the shirt off his back.”
What Happened?
According to a probable cause affidavit, Thomas was driving a blue Ford northbound when she collided head-on with a silver Honda that was already overturned on its roof.
Police said the area was well-lit and Thomas veered left after claiming the vehicle in front of her came to an abrupt stop. She struck the overturned Honda, where a deceased passenger was still inside.
Alcohol and Marijuana Use Alleged
Officers described Thomas as “nonchalant and sedated” at the scene and reported smelling alcohol from both her and her boyfriend.
Thomas allegedly admitted to drinking a “Big Sipz” cocktail (16% ABV) around midnight and also smoking marijuana earlier that night. During her breathalyzer test, her blood alcohol level was .103, over the legal limit of .08 in Texas.
When asked how she felt, Thomas reportedly smiled and said:
“I don’t know. I’ve seen things I’ve never seen before… I’m just thankful to be alive.”
She was arrested and taken to the Williamson County Jail, where she remains held on a $300,000 bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for August 20.

Ongoing Investigation
Authorities have not yet revealed details about the initial crash that caused the Honda to overturn. Police continue to investigate both collisions.
