Body of Missing Pennsylvania Woman Found in Husband’s Truck, Police Confirm

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania— A search for a missing Pennsylvania woman tragically ended with the discovery of her body in a metal box on property once owned by her husband, leading to his arrest on charges of criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence.

The Disappearance of Katlyn Harp

Katlyn Harp, 33, was reported missing on June 20, after her sister contacted authorities, stating that it was unusual for her not to have heard from her.

According to a criminal complaint, Katlyn’s husband, Vincent Harp, 37, told police that he had argued with his wife after dinner on June 19. However, when he woke up at 5:00 a.m. the next morning, she was gone.

Katlyn’s sister noted that her Life360 app had stopped updating on the night she went missing, which further raised alarms.

Inconsistent Stories and Suspicious Behavior

As the search continued, authorities remained in contact with Vincent Harp, but his stories about his whereabouts before, during, and after his wife’s disappearance were inconsistent.

He allegedly spoke of conversations he had or did not have with a counselor, and his conflicting reports about whether or not he had his phone on him raised further suspicion.

A gas station witness came forward, recalling an encounter with Vincent Harp on June 20 when he asked if they sold gloves.

After being told they did not, Vincent allegedly asked if he could have a pair from an employee. The witness provided the gloves, which Vincent Harp placed in his pocket before leaving.

Tracking Vincent Harp’s Movements

Authorities traced Vincent Harp’s movements through phone records and surveillance footage. On June 20, he was tracked to a remote mountain road in a GMC Yukon, where drag marks led into a wooded area.

When questioned about his presence, he allegedly could not provide a reasonable explanation.

Police also tracked his movements back to his home, and his Silverado pickup truck was spotted on surveillance footage later that day with a large, green metal box visible in the truck bed.

The Discovery of Katlyn Harp’s Body

On June 25, police examined an ATV that had been sold by Vincent Harp the previous day, and it tested positive for human blood.

A search of a property on Harp Lane, once owned by Vincent Harp, led to the discovery of a green metal box with a strong smell of decomposition.

Upon opening the box, authorities found human remains, and a distinctive tattoo confirmed the body as that of Katlyn Harp.

Further investigation revealed that Vincent Harp’s phone was tracked to the Harp Lane location on June 21, around 10:30 a.m. and again at 6:00 p.m. the same day.

Charges and Arrest

Vincent Harp was arrested and charged with criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence. He was arraigned on June 25 and denied bail. His next court date is scheduled for July 14.

Justice for Katlyn Harp

The case has raised concerns about domestic violence and the tragic end of Katlyn Harp’s life. As investigators continue to piece together the details, authorities are focusing on ensuring that justice is served for the victim of this horrific crime.
