Chicken Finger Chain Quietly Spreads Nationwide in Massive Growth Move

Raising Cane’s, the fast-food chain famous for its chicken fingers, continues to expand its presence across the United States, with three new restaurants opening on Tuesday. These new locations are in Ontario, Ohio; Wichita, Kansas; and Wethersfield, Connecticut.

New Openings and Upcoming Locations

This marks the latest step in the company’s aggressive growth plan. In addition to the trio of new locations, Raising Cane’s has five more openings planned for July.

These include a new restaurant in Visalia, California, set to open at the beginning of the month.

On July 15, Las Vegas, Nevada, will get a new Raising Cane’s location, while Normal, Illinois, and Jacksonville, Florida, will also have new restaurants opening on the same day. Poway, California, is set to see a new location on July 22.

The company has ambitious plans to continue its growth, with more restaurant openings slated for later this year. The chain’s website mentions that Indiana, Pennsylvania, is expected to get a new Raising Cane’s in early August.

Record Growth and Future Plans

So far in 2024, Raising Cane’s has opened over 20 new locations, and the company plans to open nearly 100 more restaurants by the end of 2025.

With over 800 locations currently operating in the U.S., the company has become a significant player in the fast-food chicken space, competing with giants like Chick-fil-A, KFC, and Popeyes.

In a statement, the Raising Cane’s representative called 2024 a “record-breaking year of growth.” The company’s expansion plans for 2026 are also impressive, with nearly 100 new locations planned across both new and existing markets.

Future locations include Los Angeles near SoFi Stadium, San Francisco at Fisherman’s Wharf, and Seattle near the University of Washington.

Founded in 1996 by Todd Graves, Raising Cane’s has steadily expanded its footprint, initially launching in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Its name is a tribute to Graves’ labrador retriever.

What’s Next for Raising Cane’s?

Raising Cane’s has set a target to operate 1,600+ restaurants, and with plans for continued expansion, it is on track to achieve this goal and potentially become one of the top 10 restaurant brands in the U.S.
