Man Denies Paternity, Pushes Pregnant Woman to Abort Before Allegedly Killing Her

TOLEDO, Ohio – Two men have been found guilty in the brutal killing of a pregnant woman and her unborn child in a case that has shaken the Lucas County community.

A jury in Lucas County convicted 37-year-old Paris James and 28-year-old Jerry Scott of aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, and tampering with evidence in connection with the death of 34-year-old Tameisha Price and her unborn daughter, Malaysia.

A Tragic End Just Weeks Before Birth

Price, who was eight months pregnant, was just weeks away from giving birth when she was murdered. Authorities said she was expecting a baby with James, who denied being the father and ultimately orchestrated her death to avoid responsibility.

According to prosecutors, James initially tried to hire another man to carry out the murder. When that failed, he turned to Scott, who helped execute the plan.

A Web of Lies and Obstruction

James’ girlfriend, Shatwiya Triplett, who was also pregnant at the time, is facing obstruction charges after allegedly lying to investigators and providing a false alibi. Her trial is still pending.

Prosecutors built their case with detailed cellphone data and text message records that painted a chilling timeline of the events leading to Price’s death.

“We hope this verdict brings a measure of peace to the families of Tameisha and Malaysia,” said Lucas County Prosecuting Attorney Julia R. Bates. “We are grateful for the jury’s service in what was a marathon case that required careful consideration.”

Sentencing Ahead

Both James and Scott are scheduled to be sentenced on July 28, and face life in prison without the possibility of parole.

A Mother Remembered

Price is survived by two sons, who were 16 and 13 at the time of her death. A GoFundMe set up by loved ones describes her as:

“A loving, caring, and giving daughter, sister, mother, and friend. Tameisha loved the Lord. She was an amazing soul whose love profoundly impacted the lives she came in contact with.”

This heartbreaking case raises critical questions about domestic violence, fatherhood denial, and community safety.
