Washington, D.C. — President Donald Trump will honor the U.S. pilots who flew the B-2 bombers that successfully targeted Iranian nuclear facilities earlier this month during the Fourth of July celebrations at the White House.
The pilots will be recognized for their role in Operation Midnight Hammer, which included strikes on Iran’s uranium enrichment sites at Fordo and Natanz.
White House Celebration Details
On Friday, July 4th, President Trump is scheduled to speak at a celebratory event in Washington, D.C., which will include a military flyover featuring the B-2 Spirit bombers, F-22 Raptors, and F-35s—the same advanced aircraft that were used for the recent airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
The B-2 bombers, known for their stealth capabilities, were integral to the success of the operation.
The B-2 Spirit bombers, based at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, will be part of the flyover, and personnel from the base are also expected to attend the event at the White House.
Trump Honors the Pilots’ Bravery
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the attendance of the pilots and other crew members involved in the operation, praising their efforts during the mission.
Trump, in a conversation on Sunday, expressed his admiration for the pilots who flew for 36 hours in a cramped environment aboard the bombers, mostly filled with bombs.
“These people flew 36 hours in a small space, a big plane, but a small space mostly occupied by bombs, and they flew so brilliantly,” Trump said.

Impact of the Airstrikes on Iran’s Nuclear Program
The U.S. Defense Department reported that the B-2 bombers dropped 14 bunker-buster bombs, targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities and causing significant damage.
The mission was supported by long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles. While some reports suggest that the strikes may have only delayed Iran’s nuclear development by a few months, the Pentagon insists that the operation was successful in severely damaging the country’s nuclear capabilities.
Iran has acknowledged that the nuclear sites were seriously damaged but has maintained that its nuclear program remains operational.
