Jackson, MS – Temperatures in Jackson will reach the mid-50s today as clouds increase throughout the afternoon. Calm winds will shift east-northeast at around 5 mph, creating a mild yet cool atmosphere for outdoor activities.
According to the National Weather Service, frost is expected overnight as temperatures dip to the mid-30s, especially between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Residents are advised to cover sensitive plants and take precautions to protect outdoor pets from the cold.
Looking ahead, sunny conditions are expected on Wednesday with highs near 56 degrees. Winds will remain light and easterly, creating a pleasant midweek forecast for the Jackson area. By Thursday, temperatures will rise to a high of 59 with mostly clear skies.
Friday brings a 30% chance of showers, primarily in the afternoon, as temperatures climb to 62. Wind gusts of up to 20 mph are possible, so caution is advised for drivers along I-20 and other local roadways. Rain becomes likely Friday night, with precipitation chances jumping to 80% and gusts reaching 25 mph.
Saturday will see clearing skies by afternoon, with temperatures nearing 67 degrees. The warmer conditions provide a brief respite before another cold front is expected early next week.
