South Central Oregon Coast Faces Freeze Warning, Cold Temps Until 10 AM Sunday

Medford, OR – A freeze warning and cold weather advisory remain in effect for the South Central Oregon Coast through Sunday morning, with temperatures expected to plunge as low as 20°F to 25°F.

According to the National Weather Service, the Cold Weather Advisory will persist until 10 a.m. Sunday, while the Freeze Warning is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. The areas impacted include Coos Bay, Bandon, Port Orford, Reedsport, and Myrtle Point.

Officials warn that the freezing temperatures pose risks such as frostbite and hypothermia if skin is exposed for prolonged periods. Additionally, sensitive vegetation, crops, and unprotected outdoor plumbing may suffer damage during the freeze.

Residents are advised to take precautions by insulating exposed pipes, covering plants, and ensuring pets remain indoors.
