Jackson, WY – A significant winter storm is expected to bring heavy snowfall across northwestern Wyoming, including Jackson Hole, Yellowstone National Park, and the Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains, beginning late tonight and lasting through late Monday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, snowfall accumulations could range from 6 to 13 inches in Jackson Hole and Star Valley, while the Teton, Gros Ventre, Salt River, and Wyoming Ranges could see 1 to 2 feet of snow. Yellowstone National Park is forecast to receive between 12 and 20 inches in the southwestern areas and 4 to 8 inches elsewhere.

Winds could gust up to 35 mph, creating hazardous travel conditions, particularly across Teton and Togwotee Passes. Officials warn that roads may become snow-packed and visibility could be severely reduced, making travel dangerous through the region.

Residents are advised to monitor weather updates and check road conditions frequently at wyoroad.info. Preparations for potential power outages and difficult travel are recommended. This storm may significantly impact outdoor activities, including travel within Yellowstone and backcountry areas.
