22-year-old found dead at gas station in east bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.  — The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the suspicious death of a man found at a gas station in East Bakersfield.

Deputies responded around 10 a.m. to the Fastrip located at Niles Street and Mount Vernon Avenue, where a man was discovered lying in the parking lot. According to authorities, the 22-year-old man, who has not been identified, showed signs of physical trauma. No further details have been released at this time.

The coroner will determine the cause and manner of death as the investigation continues.
