A Crash on Highway 54 in Jefferson City Hurts Two People

JEFFERSON CITY, (KMIZ) After a crash Thursday night involving three cars and a semi-truck, two people were hurt.

The crash happened at 8:57 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 54 and Route W, according to the Jefferson City Police Department.

Camryn Swinfard, 19, and Cody Faingnaert, 35, were both stopped in traffic near a work zone when 65-year-old Martha Nolt hit the back of Swinfard’s car, according to the crash report.

Swinfard’s car went off the road and hit a wire in the middle of the road. The report says that Nolt’s car then hit the semi-truck and caught fire.

A piece of Nolt’s car hit another car, which was said to have only minor damage.

Police in Jefferson City said that Nolt and Swinfard were taken to a hospital with mild injuries and treated there. Both cars had to be taken away.

Both Faingnaert and Katelynn Smith, who was driving the other car, were not hurt.

It was said that all four cars were wearing seatbelts.
