Breaking: Suspect Shot by Deputy in Bell Gardens Incident

During the morning hours of Thursday, a suspect was shot and injured when at least one deputy discharged their weapon in Bell Gardens.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Eastern Avenue and East Florence Avenue, close to the Parkwest Bicycle Casino.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department verified that a deputy fired shots, resulting in the suspect being struck. It remains uncertain whether the suspect was armed or had fired any shots during the altercation.

Footage from Sky5 revealed a damaged patrol SUV that had come to rest on a sidewalk. Additionally, a white four-door SUV with front-end damage was visible on the street, with the front windshield showing multiple bullet holes.

Following the incident, both the deputy and the suspect were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Their current conditions are unknown, as stated by the Sheriff’s Department shortly after the occurrence.

However, the department later clarified in a news release that the deputy had not sustained any injuries.

The events leading up to the shooting remain unclear at this time.
