Pueblo, CO – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Pueblo has issued a Red Flag Warning for parts of southern Colorado, effective from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. MST Wednesday. The warning covers Huerfano County, Las Animas County, and Baca County, including areas such as Walsenburg, Trinidad, and Springfield.
According to the NWS, west winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph near the mountains, combined with relative humidity as low as 12 percent, will create critical fire weather conditions. Any fires that ignite could spread rapidly, making outdoor burning extremely dangerous.
Residents are urged to avoid activities that could spark fires and to stay informed of any local restrictions.
