Surveillance Video Captures Florida Rapper’s Fatal Confrontation with Manager and Car Collision

A Florida rapper, Kevhani Camilla Hicks, known as Key Vhani, is facing murder charges following the alleged shooting of her manager in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood. The incident, captured on security footage, occurred on October 9.

In the footage obtained by NBC Miami, Hicks and her manager were seen exiting a white car, engaging in a heated argument that escalated into physical confrontation. Another man joined in, and they subdued Hicks by pinning her to the ground. Once released, Hicks walked away but suddenly turned, retrieved a handgun from her bag, and shot her manager multiple times.

Despite attempts to take cover behind a car, the manager was eventually left wounded on the ground. The second man involved then fled in their car, reportedly running over Hicks in the process. Hicks, hospitalized with injuries, asserted that the shooting was an act of self-defense, citing fear for her life due to the victim’s size and threatening statements.

Police reports detailed Hicks’ claim that the victim had threatened to kill her with one hit. A GoFundMe, allegedly set up by a family member, asserted that the two men in the video had assaulted Hicks multiple times.

Despite being placed in custody, Hicks was granted a $50,000 bond and house arrest in a recent hearing, with her attorney asserting that the incident was a clear case of self-defense.
