Fort Worth, TX – A strong cold front is set to move through Texas this weekend, bringing a sharp temperature drop and the potential for severe storms.

According to the National Weather Service Fort Worth, a warming trend will continue through Friday and Saturday before the front moves in late Saturday. As the system advances, scattered showers and storms are expected, particularly east of I-35, with some storms potentially reaching severe levels in East Texas.

The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex will see highs near 70°F on Saturday before dropping to 43°F on Sunday, with overnight lows plunging into the 20s. The Waco/Killeen/Temple area will experience a similar shift, with highs reaching the mid-70s Saturday before cooling into the 40s by Sunday. Breezy conditions are also forecast following the front’s passage.

Residents are advised to stay weather-aware and prepare for possible strong storms Saturday evening. The cold air mass behind the front could bring wind chills near freezing in some areas.
