Boosted Safety Measures Coming to Madison & St. Clair Counties this November!

In November, Illinois State Police will increase patrols and conduct roadside checks in Madison and St. Clair Counties, Collinsville. This initiative aims to combat impaired driving, ensure seat belts are fastened, and curb speeding.

Special patrols will target the “fatal four” violations, including driving under the influence (DUI), safety belt and child restraint usage, speeding, and distracted driving.

Illinois State Police’s objective is to reduce Illinois traffic fatalities caused by impairment by 30% and by speeding by 35%. Roadside Safety Checks in Madison and St. Clair Counties will address DUI offenses and other traffic violations.

In the United States, there is an alcohol-related traffic fatality every 53 minutes. Safety belts remain one of the most effective safety measures in vehicles, estimated to save nearly 14,000 lives each year.
