SAN FRANCISCO — A San Francisco sidewalk incident resulting in the death of an Asian woman has now identified the victim as Yan Fang Wu, a 63-year-old resident of San Francisco.
Authorities discovered her in critical condition on a sidewalk along 3rd Street near Egbert Avenue in the Bayview District neighborhood. The information was provided by both the police and the Wind Newspaper.
According to Officer Niccole Pacchetti’s report, the San Francisco Police Department stated that on July 3 at 6:40 p.m., an unidentified female assailant pushed Wu.
Witnesses stated that the victim was walking on the sidewalk when she was unexpectedly approached from behind by the unknown suspect, resulting in her falling to the ground and hitting her head.
Sadly, two days after the unprovoked attack, Wu succumbed to her injuries at a hospital, as confirmed by Pacchetti.
Wu’s husband, interviewed by the Wind Newspaper, mentioned that his wife worked at a restaurant in the Sunset District and commuted to work by bus. To ensure her safety, he would accompany her daily to and from the bus stop.
On July 3, as her husband reached the bus stop, he found Wu lying injured on the sidewalk. He clarified that nothing was stolen from her during the incident.
