BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield police swiftly responded to a distress call regarding a man who had been wounded following a gunfire incident in central Bakersfield on Sunday.

The incident unfolded on September 24, as the Bakersfield Police Department received alerts from ShotSpotter technology, pinpointing the sound of gunshots in the vicinity of the 1000 block of 6th Street. Officers rushed to the scene and discovered a man in critical condition.

Tragically, the man’s injuries proved fatal, and he was declared deceased at the location. Additionally, emergency calls regarding the incident were placed around 2:05 p.m.
