Hit-and-Run Accident in Bakersfield Leaves Two Pedestrians Seriously Injured

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Friday night, two pedestrians were seriously injured when they were hit by a hit-and-run driver on Chester Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

According to deputies, the incident occurred just after midnight on Saturday when the two pedestrians were crossing Chester Avenue in the number one lane, north of Decatur Street.

They were struck by a black Chevrolet pick-up truck that had been lifted, and it is believed to be an older model truck with a lift of at least six inches.

The collision caused both victims to be thrown onto the road. The suspect’s truck was last seen heading westbound on Washington Street.

Both pedestrians were immediately taken to a nearby hospital with severe injuries.

As of now, no suspect has been identified, and the investigation is still ongoing.
