Hanford, CA – A freeze warning remains in effect for the San Joaquin Valley through 9 a.m. Wednesday as temperatures drop near or below freezing overnight. This includes cities such as Hanford, Lemoore, and Corcoran, with lows expected to dip to 28°F.
According to the National Weather Service, frost conditions will be widespread, particularly during the early morning hours. Daytime highs will remain near 60°F, offering slight relief, but residents are urged to protect sensitive plants, crops, and exposed plumbing. The warning covers major areas along the I-5 corridor, including Fresno and Kings Counties.
Overnight into Tuesday, patchy fog and frost will settle over the valley. Tuesday morning lows will hover around 33°F, followed by sunny conditions with highs near 62°F. Frost is expected again Tuesday night and early Wednesday.
Midweek weather will gradually warm, with highs reaching 63°F by Thursday. However, overnight frost will persist, and residents should continue precautions for plants, outdoor animals, and pipes. Clear skies through Friday indicate stable weather ahead but no immediate end to cold nighttime temperatures.
Local farmers are encouraged to monitor frost conditions closely, as extended freezing poses risks to crops. Drivers along major routes, including I-5 and Highway 198, should remain alert for patchy fog during morning commutes.
