LAPD Fatally Shoots Dog Attacking 65-Year-Old in Downtown LA

In downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday morning, law enforcement officers were forced to take action by fatally shooting a dog that had attacked a 65-year-old man, as reported by authorities.

According to an LAPD spokesperson who spoke with ABC7, the dog had bitten the man multiple times in the vicinity of Seventh Street and Gladys Avenue.

The incident prompted a swift response from officers who arrived at the scene at approximately 9:44 a.m. At least one officer discharged their weapon in response to the situation.

Subsequently, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the dog had been killed in the encounter.

Fortunately, the injured man’s wounds were not severe, and he received treatment for minor injuries on the spot. He did not require transportation to a hospital, as stated by the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The specific breed of the dog involved in the incident remained unclear at the time of reporting.

Due to the ongoing investigation conducted by the LAPD and animal control officers, the intersection where the incident occurred remained closed during this time.
