Stimulus Update: Get $1,000 Per Month for Two Years! Apply Now in L.A. County!

Los Angeles County is about to start a program called Breathe that will give people a fixed income. Former foster children can apply and receive $1,000 in monthly payments for two years under this scheme.

From the people who apply for this scheme, 200 will be chosen to get the money. People who want to apply can do so from June 20 at 6 a.m. to July 3 at 11:59 p.m. This project helps people who need it the most by giving them support and money.

All over the country, people are becoming more interested in the idea of a guaranteed income, which is a payment from the government with no strings attached. In different parts of California, dozens of these programs are already going or are about to start.

In 2022, L.A. County started a new program to help low-income people who are having trouble paying their bills because of the outbreak.

At first, 1,000 people were chosen at random to take part in the program. These lucky people were given a $1,000 monthly stipend for three years.

A Los Angeles County representative told the Washington Examiner that the program that gave $1,000 every month to 1,000 people for three years will now give the same amount every month to 200 more people, but only for two years.

It’s interesting to know that the first 1,000 people who got the money were picked at random from all the qualified applicants.

To be eligible for the program, applicants must:

  • You must be at least 21.
  • Before September 1, 2023, you can’t be 24.
  • Have been cared for by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Families before they turned 18, while they were becoming adults.

Furthermore, there are some other eligibility criteria,

Determine if your household income is at or below the stipulated program limits to be eligible.

Make sure your household income is at or below the median for your area if you are a one-person household. If you live with more than one person, make sure your income is at or below 120% of the area’s typical income.

Check to see if the COVID-19 pandemic has hurt you and if you still need to sign up for another program that guarantees you money. If you meet the requirements, you might be able to join this program.
